Biography
Shawn Degener is an attorney who focuses on patent prosecution and other intellectual property matters. Mr. Degener received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in Biology with a concentration in communications. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law. He is a licensed attorney in New Mexico and is awaiting admittance to the New York bar. He is presently studying to take the patent bar exam.
While attending law school, Mr. Degener served as the President of the Intellectual Property Society, as well as the Student Liaison to the State Bar of New Mexico Intellectual Property Law Section. In his capacity as both President and Student Liaison, he assisted with organizing various events at the law school, including the Intellectual Property Pro Bono Fair, which received the “Outstanding Legal Program” award from the State Bar of New Mexico in 2022
